About The Artist

Elle H. Sung is a visual artist whose practice delves into the intimate relationship between the human body and the natural environment. Her work draws from elemental motifs—rain, wind, forest, and stillness—to evoke meditative, sensory experiences rooted in organic rhythm. Using layered textures and flowing forms, Sung’s paintings become quiet spaces for reflection, inviting viewers to engage with presence, vitality, and the subtle emotional landscapes that arise from reconnecting with nature.

Born in 1959, Elle H. Sung holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from Ewha Women’s University College of Fine Arts. She has held 5 solo exhibitions and participated in 4 art fairs, along with numerous group exhibitions. Sung has been an active member of the Korea Fine Arts Association and the Incheon Sculpture Association. She has also contributed to arts education as a former instructor at the MBC Cultural Center and the Inha University Social Education Institute in South Korea.

The power to make flowers

Where does the power to make flowers bloom come from? Where does the strength to endure the realities of life come from?

I thought it was similar to the energy that gives flowers their form, and i would like to call it life or hope.

The process and power of the energy sucked from the earth meeting spring and blooming into the power to make flowers bloom beautiful flowers! This is exactly what I want to express.

There are people who truly like my paintings, which gives me strength in life.
